$buffer['encrypted'] (which is always empty) should be $buffer['ciphertext'] or buffered stream will get corrupt...
Example:

$aes = new Crypt_AES(CRYPT_AES_MODE_CTR);

$aes->enableContinuousBuffer();

echo $aes->Decrypt($aes->Encrypt($plaintext[$i]));
}
